Our Story
Barnoon Arts began in 2015, founded by artists Zoe Eaton and Peter Giles. Our first home was at Barnoon, overlooking Porthmeor Beach (pictured) which inspired the name we still carry today. Since those early days we’ve moved through several creative spaces across St Ives — including Harbour Galleries on The Wharf and Westcotts Quay before our new space at Trenwith Place.
Accessibility At Our Gallery
We want everyone to feel welcome in our gallery and to enjoy the artworks we exhibit. Our new space on the first floor of Tregenna Place was constructed in 1905, and the main gallery space is located on the first floor, accessible only by two flights of stairs. Unfortunately, due to the structure and age of the building, installing a lift is not possible.
To ensure all visitors can still experience our exhibitions and art shop, we provide an accessible ground‑floor lobby (which is accessed via the alley entrance on Chappel Street) with:
A curated selection of artworks from the current exhibition
Printed guides and artist information
Staff support available to answer questions and provide additional materials
The option for staff to bring smaller artworks or art shop items downstairs for viewing
All sales, enquiries, and consultations can be carried out on the ground floor.
